This is it! The Mt Aspiring MAX Adventure is the most demanding canyoning experience we offer and is reserved exclusively for experienced canyoners with a high level of fitness, strong swimming ability and the confidence to move through challenging wilderness terrain including great heights and exposed edges.
Hidden deep within the UNESCO World Heritage wilderness of the Mt Aspiring National Park, this elite-level expedition takes you into a canyon few people will ever experience. Bigger, longer and more committing than any other trip in our collection, the MAX is designed for those seeking genuine challenge and a true test of their canyoning ability.
Expect powerful whitewater, technical canyon navigation, exposed terrain, demanding swims, significant abseils and a level of commitment that requires both physical and mental resilience. Every obstacle is earned, every descent is memorable and every section of canyon delivers a sense of adventure that simply cannot be replicated on easier trips.
Surrounded by towering alpine peaks, ancient forest and crystal-clear mountain water, you’ll journey through one of New Zealand’s most remote and spectacular wilderness environments. This is canyoning in its purest form — wild, raw and unforgettable.
Previous canyoning experience is mandatory for this adventure. Participants must be comfortable moving around exposed edges, swimming confidently in moving water and maintaining a high level of performance throughout a physically demanding day.
